2027: Eket Women Declare Total Support For Gov. Umo Eno’s Re-election, Hold End-of-Year Get-Together

Women from across Eket Local Government Area have unanimously reaffirmed their steadfast support for the re-election of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, while advocating for love, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

The declaration was made on Sunday at the Eket Women End-of-Year Get-Together, held at the residence of Mkpisong Frank Archibong in Ikot Ibiok, Eket LGA.

Addressing over 2500 women , the chief host, Dr. Mrs. Bright Frank Archibong, wife of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and the safe delivery of her son, Master Emmanuel Frank Archibong, explaining that this was the reason for her recent absence from public engagements. She appreciated her husband for his consistent support to Eket Women and urged the women to mobilise massively for the APC, Governor Umo Eno, and President Tinubu.
She assured that Eket women would remain steadfast and united in ensuring the Governor’s re-election, noting that their collective resolve was unshakeable.
“As women of Eket, we have taken a clear and unanimous decision. We will stand firmly with Pastor Umo Eno and we are ready to deliver our votes overwhelmingly for his second term in 2027,” she declared.
Also speaking, Mrs. Maryam Tommey, wife of the Executive Chairman of Eket LGA, called on women to partner for progress irrespective of party affiliations, stressing that Eket stands united behind Pastor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The APC Chapter Chairman in Eket, Mr. Akwaukutiso Akanimo, described Frank Archibong and Akan Tommey as emerging political leaders whose contributions must be recognized, adding that with the support of Eket women, the APC would soar to greater heights in the area.
In their separate remarks, Executive Chairman of Eket, Mkpisong Akan Tommey and the State lawmaker, Dr. Nsiidibe Akata, commended the women for their discipline, peaceful conduct, and steadfast promotion of the Governor’s ARISE Agenda at the grassroots, praising their resolve to back Governor Umo Eno and the APC in 2027.
Earlier, his speech Hon. Frank Archibong thanked the women for what he described as the “right decision,” declaring 2026 a year of peace, progress, and fulfilment.
He urged them to sustain their support, recalling the decisive role women played in past electoral successes in Eket.
“Our unity delivered the second-highest votes in the last election, a success largely driven by the dedication and mobilisation of our women. I therefore urge you to give your full support to the Office of the First Lady, under the coordination of Mrs. Helen Obareki, to enable her effectively continue and complete the noble initiatives laid down by the First Lady. With sustained backing for the office and our collective commitment, we will achieve even greater results and secure a second term for Pastor Umo Eno,” he said, while also calling on the women to continually remember the Governor in their prayers.
The meeting also featured the distribution of bags of rice to every woman at the event , wrappers, and cash gifts to all the women across all political parties. They pledged to work tirelessly for the success of Governor Umo Eno and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
The meeting which was attended by over 2,500 Women ended on a high note with songs, prayers, and a renewed commitment by Eket women to peace, unity, and decisive political mobilisation ahead of 2027.
