This commitment was made during a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Nelly Martins Nyeche, at the Eket Divisional Police Headquarters, Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday, 26 November, 2025.
Speaking during the visit, the President General of Afigh Iwaad Ekid, Obongiwaad (Capt.) Willie Mbong, said the engagement was part of the new leadership’s effort to formally identify with the police and to communicate their willingness to work together for improved community safety.

In his response, CSP Nelly Martins appreciated the leadership of Afigh Iwaad Ekid for the visit and their intention to collaborate.
He noted that the division had recorded significant progress in crime prevention and expressed readiness to deepen such efforts through the proposed partnership.
The DPO emphasized the importance of timely information from communities, noting that prompt reporting remains one of the most effective ways to support policing.
