Akwa Ibom Community Abuja Honours Rep Ime Okon with Award of Excellence 

The Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja has conferred an Award of Excellence in National Legislative Service on the Member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ime Bassey Okon, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to legislative development in Nigeria.

The award was presented during a courtesy visit to the lawmaker’s office by a high-powered delegation of Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja executives and stakeholders, led by the President of the community, Mkpisong (Barr.) Gabriel Fan.

Barr. Fan described Rep. Ime Okon as a committed and people-oriented lawmaker whose work reflects deep love for his constituents, Akwa Ibom State and its people.

According to the citation accompanying the award, Rep. Ime Okon was honoured for his dedication to legislative excellence and his role in strengthening democratic governance through purposeful participation in the National Assembly.

In his speech, the federal lawmaker expressed gratitude to the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja for the honour, describing it as a motivation to deepen his commitment to service.

He reaffirmed his resolve to continue contributing meaningfully to legislative processes and to uphold the trust reposed in him by the people of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency.

The award adds to a growing list of commendations acknowledging Rep. Ime Okon’s legislative footprint and his steady contributions to national discourse and constituency development.
