APC Home Coming: Gov Eno Empowers Constituents with Millions as Business Grants

reaffirms commitment to massive infrastructural development

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has empowered 55 of his constituents in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area with millions in business grants, to improve their economic well-being and further impact positively on their families and communities.

Addressing a mammoth crowd at his country home, Ikot Ekpene Udo, where he hosted the people, the Governor assured everyone of his determination to drastically transform them economically with a series of business grants.

Governor Eno who noted that the beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme were selected from each of the 11 Wards of the Local Government Area, added that the programme will be periodic to ensure that many people benefit from it.

During the maiden engagement, each of the selected beneficiaries from the different Wards of the Area received a cheque of N500,000 to engage in any legitimate businesses of their choice.

“With this N500,000 given to you today, ensure you utilize it properly in a productive business for your own growth and well-being that will positively impact on your family and communities,” he said.

Governor Eno also reaffirmed his commitment to “bringing infrastructural development home,” stressing that several roads in the area have already been assigned for immediate construction and solar-lighting to give them their pride of place.

The Governor’s economic empowerment drive got a boost from State Executive Council members, State and national legislators, industry leaders, Local Government chairmen, and other dignitaries who showed solidarity with the Governor by attending the event and also donating to the worthy cause in a bid to reach more beneficiaries.

Earlier, the Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Mr. Alfred Charles, welcomed and thanked Governor Eno for his impactful home-coming programme, assuring him of his people’s support for the ARISE Agenda and pledged their unwavering commitment to vote him back to office in 2027.

In their separate goodwill messages, the chapter chairman of All Progressives Congress, Hon. Johnson Udoka; Senator Aniekan Bassey; Obong Paul Bassey; Hon. Otobong Bob; Hon. Emmanuel Ibiok; Senator Effiong Bob, amongst numerous others, commended Governor Eno for his exceptional love and care for his people propelled by his visionary and pragmatic leadership, and unanimously reaffirmed their support for the Governor and President Tinubu come 2027.

High point of the event was an inspiring story of a young graduate whose fortune was changed through a drop of inspiration from Governor Eno about five years ago.
