BAUCHI PDP CRISIS: Wike-Backed Caretaker Committee Orders Bala Mohammed’s Group to Vacate Offices
A caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, believed to be loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has asked PDP officials loyal to Governor Bala Mohammed to leave all party offices across the state within 14 days.
The order was announced by the committee’s chairman, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, during a press briefing in Bauchi. He warned that anyone who refuses to comply will face legal action.
Jungudo said the committee was set up by the PDP National Working Committee to manage the party’s affairs in Bauchi and restore order after internal disagreements. He promised that the committee would work according to the party’s constitution and directives from the national leadership.
The committee also apologized to former Jigawa State Governor and PDP founding member, Sule Lamido, over the embarrassment he allegedly suffered during the party’s failed national convention. The group blamed the situation on Governor Bala Mohammed.
He further warned that any form of violence against party members would not be tolerated, adding that Governor Bala Mohammed would be held responsible if such incidents occur.
The caretaker committee also dismissed a recent PDP meeting held in Ibadan, describing it as illegal because it did not follow court rulings and was not supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
