It was a historic event as Christ Army Church (GBC) Enthroned ONNA born politician and philanthropist, Engr. (Dr.) David Emmanuel Udonsek, as Bishop and Chairman Conference of Akwa Ibom State Diocese of the Church

The Enthronement and Presentation ceremony took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at City of King David Cathedral, Christ Army Church (GBC), Ikot Ebidang District Headquarters, ONNA Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Delivering his sermon on the topic: Thank You Lord, the officiating minister, Archbishop of Rivers Diocese and National Vice President, Christ Army Church (GBC) Worldwide, His Grace, Most Rev. Adokiye H. Fenibo, maintained that the Scripture has commanded Christian in Ist Chronicles 16: 8; to worship God by proclaiming his works and miracles.

Most Rev. Fenibo, added that serving in God’s vineyard comes with huge responsibilities, assuring the new Bishop of their continued prayers for God to grant him the enablement to discharge his duties with love and discipline.

In his enthronement speech, Bishop Udonsek, declared that he will be faithful to the Cathedral, defend and observe it’s statutes.

“I, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. (Dr) David Udonsek, MNSE is elected and confirmed Bishop of the Christ Army Church (GBC), Akwa Ibom State Diocese, came to this Cathedral; firstly, I do make request of all my faithful people for their prayers that I may be to them a faithful Pastor and Father in God for the honour and glory of Jesus Christ who has purchased us to Himself with His most precious blood.

The newly enthroned Bishop further assured of his commitment to be faithful and defend the statutes of the Church.

“I, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. (Dr) David Udonsek, MNSE by Divine permission, Bishop of Christ Army Church (GBC), Akwa Ibom State Diocese declare that I will be faithful to my Cathedral and to the utmost of my power will defend it and observe it’s statutes, and cause others to observe them to the glory of God. So help me God”, He declared.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Hon. Kufre Umoren, Deputy Leader of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr. Nsidibe Akata, Obong (Hon.) Elder Sunday U. Johnny Memebr Representing Onna State Constituency, Former Onna Council Chairman and Member Eket, Onna, Esit Eket and Ibeno Federal House of representative Rt. Hon. (Dcns) Owoidighi I. Ekpottai, Founder, Maurid Polytechnic, Dr. Umontuen, and Barr. Ntiense Mboso, all lauded the wisdom of Bishop David Emmanuel Udonsek to serve in God’s vineyard, saying his humble disposition has elevated him to an exalted position in life.

They commended for his huge financial investment in church planting, assured him of their prayers and support to enable him to succeed in his new assignment.

The President, Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, Ntisong Pius James Okon, expressed joy that a great Ibibio son has been elevated to the exalted office of a Bishop, stressing that Bishop Udonsek has contributed immensely to unite Ibibio Nation.

Speaking also, the Patriarch of Udonsek dynasty, Óbóng Uforo of ONNA, Otuekong Sunny Udonsek, said love is the reason why people from far and near came to celebrate Bishop Udonsek, describing him as a cheerful giver that place much value on human existence.

Óbóng Uforo emphasized that Udonsek family is noted for extending love to others, charging Christian to emulate Christ by sharing whatever they have with those in need, declaring that without love, there is no unity among brethren.

The event featured praise and worship from Minister Prudence all the way from Lagos, renditions by different choirs and performances by children groups, among others.

In attendance were; Bishop (Dr.) Chris Nyong, CAN Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Bishop (Dr.) Joseph Ekpoabasi Chairman OAIC Block Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Prophet (Dr.) Williams Mbuk founder Victorious Family Worship Center, Eket, Apostle Sam Essien, representative of Bishop Isaiah Isong, Bishop, ONNA Vice Chairman, Hon. Lady Mfon Uko, Council Secretary, Mr. Mfon Akpabio, Chapter Chairman of PDP in ONNA, Hon. Kingsley Johnny, former Chapter Chairman of PDP in ONNA, Barr. Ubong Adiakpan, among other dignitaries.
