Empowerment Program: Women from 10 Federal Constituencies undergo One-week Intensive Training in Pastry Making

Ten women trainees drawn from the ten (10) Federal Constituencies of Akwa Ibom Community, Abuja, have expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of the Akwa Ibom Community, Abuja, led by Mkpisong (Barr.) Gabriel Fan, as they successfully concluded a one-week intensive training in pastry making.

The empowerment initiative was conducted pro bono by ChefEmem’s Kitchen,Abuja, under the coordination of the CEO Mrs. Roseline Henry Edem, an Eket born daughter and wife who happens to be the Senior Special Assistant to the President, on Welfare Matters.

The training, which officially came to a close on Monday, was marked by heartfelt gratitude and joy as the participants reflected on the knowledge, skills, and inspiration they gained during the exercise.

In their remarks, the trainees commended the community leadership for its vision and commitment to youth empowerment, describing the initiative as timely and life-changing. They also lauded Mrs. Roseline Henry Edem for her selfless service and dedication to uplifting young people through practical skill acquisition.

The program, which ran for one week, focused on equipping participants with hands-on skills in various aspects of pastry production — including cake baking, meat pie preparation, doughnut making, and other confectioneries, with the goal of fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurship among members of the Akwa Ibom community in the Federal Capital Territory.

The leadership of the community, in turn, applauded the resilience and commitment of the trainees, reaffirming its readiness to continue supporting initiatives that promote human capital development and empowerment for sustainable growth.

The closing day was filled with excitement and optimism, as participants pledged to utilize their newly acquired skills to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the wider Akwa Ibom society.
