Bassey Kingsley поted the critical role of the media in society, noting that without a vibrant press, balance and accountability would be difficult to achieve.
He commended his boss, the Chairman of Esit Eket LGA, Mrs. Uduak Ikot in what he described as “her sterling performance in office”, describing her achievements as visible and highly commendable. He particularly praised the chairman for adopting the compassionate leadership style of the Akwa Ibom State Governor by constructing three Compassionate Homes for the less privileged, noting that such an act of kindness is rare and deserving of applause.
The works supervisor also appealed for sustained support for Governor Umo Eno, saying the governor’s achievements within just two years in office are remarkable and unprecedented, and aligned with his vision of making Akwa Ibom a home for all.
In his response, a PDP chieftain in the state, Comrade Unwana Assam, appreciated Hon. Archibong for creating time to engage select media practitioners, describing the meeting as a first of its kind. Assam Unwana, an activist and businessman, also lauded the performance of the council chairman, noting that she has demonstrated capacity and delivered commendable results.
