Govt Appointees, Councillor Celebrate New Year with Constituents

Canvass Support for Gov Eno, President Tinubu

Yesterday, January 1, 2026, the people of Ward 5 Central, comprises of Odio and Nditia, in Eket local government area, went home smiling as Government Appointees and elected Councillor donated cash gifts to celebrate the New Year.

In their separate remarks, the Councillor representing Ward 5 Central in Eket Legislative Council, Hon. Itohowo Ebito, Supervisor for Tourism, Hon. Emem Francis, Personal Assistant to the Governor from Ward 5 Central, Miss Comfort Ebitu, and Personal Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Ubong Creativity David, commended Governor Umo Eno for people-centric governance in the State which has impacted the people positively.

They thanked the people for their unflinching loyalty and continuous support to the ARISE Agenda Policy, calling for more support for the re-election of Governor Umo Eno and President Bola Tinubu in 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, the Youth President of Odio, Comrade Anietie Nnah Sunday, thanked Governor Umo Eno for warning youths not to allowed themselves to be used as political thugs during elections, stressing that the support of Odio youths in 2027 general elections will only be hinge on the construction of Ndon Eyo-Ikot Akpatek-Ikwe-Odio Road.

While commending the Governor for prioritizing rural development, especially the ARISE Compassionate Home, he strongly appealed for the same gesture to be extended to Odio community.

In his goodwill message, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Political Leader in Ward 5 Central, Chrispian Ukpaukure, thanked the people for their consistency in supporting successive government in power, assuring that from a privileged information, work will soon commence on Ndon Eyo-Ikot Akpatek-Ikwe-Odio Road.

Earlier, the APC Ward Chairman of Central 5, Mr. Dominic Idiok, expressed gratitude to God for a united political development in the State, championed by Governor Umo Eno, maintaining that the gesture has totally eliminated political tension in the Ward and will facilitate rapid development in the area.

In attendance were former Councillor, Hon. Smith Udo Johnny and wife, former Supervisor for Environment, Mrs. Stella Etukakpan, SA to the Chairman, Mr. Aniefiok Fan, Mr. Otu Ebito, party stakeholders, women and youths from Odio and Nditia respectively.
