The festive spirit was palpable at QIC Primary School Nduo Eduo, Okon, Eket LGA, as Hon. Richard Sendy, Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Grassroots Mobilization, joined the school community for a joyous Christmas party.
The SA’s visit was a testament to his commitment to the youth and education, and the children were overjoyed to see him.
In a grand gesture, Hon. Sendy rewarded the top-performing students in each class with financial empowerment, while the best teacher, Mrs. Victoria Sylvester, was also recognized for her dedication.
Remember, Mr Sendy have made pledged sometime ago when delivering back-to-school materials to the pupils, that he will reward over all best student in each of the classes.
But that’s not all – the SA announced that the best students in the next term would receive uniforms and sandals, a promise that left the children beaming with excitement.
Hon. Sendy credited the success of his initiatives to the benevolence of Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, who he said is passionate about empowering the youth through education. The SA’s commitment to the community was evident in his words, “I am honored to serve this great community, and I will continue to execute the ARISE AGENDA policy of Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno to uplift the lives of our people.”
In a special announcement, Hon. Sendy revealed that he would be hosting a Christmas party for the children in his ward before the end of the year, promising to communicate the date to teachers and parents soon. The children were overjoyed at the prospect of another celebration, and the SA’s words were met with thunderous applause.
The event featured vibrant performances, including songs and cultural dances, showcasing the rich heritage of the community. The PTA Chairman, Mr. Ekopimo Monday Akpan, advised the children to cultivate good values such as humility, respect, and obedience, while the Head Teacher, Mrs. Rose Bassey William, delivered a powerful message on the significance of Christ in their lives.
As the celebration drew to a close, Hon. Sendy expressed his gratitude to the parents for ensuring their children attended school, acknowledging the importance of education in shaping their future. He urged them to support Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno’s Second Term, promising that it would bring more development and empowerment to the state.
