Late Mrs Inyang David Fan laid to rest at family compound

The remains of Late Mrs. Inyang David Fan was peacefully buried today, November 29, 2025, at Chief Akpan Fan Essien’s compound, Ikot Afaha, Odio in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The funeral service was conducted by Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lion of Judah Zone, Uyo, and witnessed by families, friends and sympathizers.

In his tribute to the deceased, the President, Akwa Ibom Community Abuja, Mkpisong Barr Gabriel Fan, lamented that Mrs. Inyang has left Fan’s family when her presence was most needed, extolling her exceptional virtues of love, respect and humility.

He noted that her peaceful disposition endeared her to many in the family, praying God to receive her soul.

Speaking also, the Odio Village Council Secretary, Mr. Felix Inyang, maintained that Late Mrs Fan was very accommodating and embraced every family member without discrimination, saying her sudden exit has left a vacuum in the family.

In his homily, the Officiating Minister, noted that though Late Mrs Inyang’s journey on earth has been cut short, she lived a life worthy of emulation. He emphasized that she was actively involved in every church activities even during her challenging health condition, urging Christian to live life that will pleased God.

The Minister added that no church or place of worship will give anyone salvation, stressing that no one can make heaven without giving his or her life to Christ.

Born 43 years ago into the royal family of Late Elder (Chief) Okung Okung Ntofon and Mrs. Nene Okung Ntofon of Mbokpu Uko Akan in Urue Offong Oruko, Late Mrs Inyang was the first daughter in the family of four.

She started her educational journey in 1986 at Primary School, Uko Uyukim, Oron, where she successfully obtained her First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC in 1992. She further her studies at Mary Ann Secondary School, Oron and later completed her Senior Secondary Certificate Education, SSCE, at Ubondung Community Secondary School, Urue Offong Oruko.

In her quest for higher education, she earned a Diploma in Local Government Administration and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Policy and Administration.

Late Mrs Inyang (Nee Okung Ntofon) was born into a devoted Methodist family, but after marriage, she later joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Sceptre of Judah Parish, Uyo, where she continued her faithful service to God, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Woman Leader, and Minister. She carried out all her responsibilities with excellence, commitment and a heart of service until her transition to glory.

Late Mrs Inyang, got married to Mr. David Fan in 2012, and the marriage produced three lovely and wonderful children: two males and a female. She left behind her mother, husband, sisters, aunties, inlaws, friends, and many others whose hearts ache at her passing.
