Nana Announces Óbóng Attah’s Book Launch, Praises Gov Eno

Dr. Udeme Nana, Founder of Uyo Book Club, has announced the 87th birthday celebration of former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Arc. Obong Victor Attah.

The event which will also feature the launch of Obong Attah’s biography, “Attah: Architect of a New Democratic Dawn” written by veteran columnist, Dr Dele Sobowale, will hold on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at NAF Conference Centre Kado Abuja.

Speaking with reporters in Uyo, Dr. Nana praised Governor Umo Eno for his projects and programmes under the ARISE Agenda, which he believes will boost the state’s economy.

Some of the projects he mentioned include the ARISE Resort, International Conference Center and the Ibom Hotels.

“With these projects, Akwa Ibom will become a destination for big local, national and international conferences. That would create jobs and boosts the economy of the state. Our youths would be employed and would build capacity in the management of those world class hospitality facilities,” he said.

He also praised Governor Eno’s plan to encourage the cultivation of oil palm trees through the recently launched Tree Revolution.

Dr Nana who served as Director of Press Affairs under Obong Attah, said most of Governor Eno’s projects, policies and programmes can be likened to those of Obong Attah in terms of their economic potentials.

“Most of the projects embarked by Governor Attah, second civilian Governor of Akwa Ibom State were economic enablers.”

Dr. Nana , a Chief Lecturer at the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, who described Obong Attah as a visionary leader who made significant contributions to Akwa Ibom State’s development and Nigeria’s democratic journey, highlighted Obong Attah’s achievements as a former governor to include the conceptualisation of the Independent Power Plant, Ibaka Deep Seaport, the Airport with the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility, the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort and Shelter Afrique Housing Estate.He equally commended Obong Attah’s advocacy for fiscal federalism and the rule of law in Nigeria.

The book launch will feature notable guests, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno.
