Pat Ifon Fires Up ONNA APC Excos, Governor’s Aides to Build an Unstoppable Party Machinery

As Party Excos Pass Vote of Confidence on Governor Eno, Political Leader, and Chapter Executives

The political leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in ONNA Local Government Area, Otuekong Patrick Ifon, has charged Chapter and Ward Executives, alongside the Governor’s Ward Personal Assistants, to unite and build a formidable party structure capable of winning elections convincingly.

Addressing party stakeholders on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his residence alongside his wife, Dr. Elsie Ifon, the former member of the House of Representatives emphasized the need for discipline, cohesion, and deliberate grassroots engagement.

“We must show, through our conduct and coordination, that APC in ONNA is ready to lead.

“A divided house cannot win elections. But a united front, disciplined, strategic, and people-focused is unstoppable.” – Ifon declared.

He urged party officials to deepen membership drive efforts and demonstrate leadership that attracts rather than repels supporters.

“As Excos, it is your responsibility to grow this party. Go into every community, speak to our people, invite new members, and rebuild trust. Let your actions market the party, not undermine it.” – He added.

Calling for respect for constituted authorities and party hierarchy, he cautioned against attitudes that weaken party cohesion. He announced that the APC leadership in ONNA will embark on a tour across all twelve wards to assess ongoing activities and strengthen engagement.

“This is the season for structure-building, in the coming days, we will be in all the wards, listening, evaluating, and ensuring that ONNA APC stands as one family with one mission.” – He added.

Earlier in the meeting, the ONNA Chapter Chairman of the party, Tom Nkanang, commended Ifon for his intentional leadership, describing him as the engine driving the new wave of unity and strategic reorganization within the chapter.

He urged Ward Chairmen and PAs to intensify membership registration and reconcile long-standing differences for the greater good of the party.

“We must ventilate old issues, bury unnecessary grievances, and work as a team,” Nkanang said. “Our strength lies in our numbers and in our unity.”

In recognition of the performance of the Governor, HE Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, the purposeful leadership of Otuekong Pat Ifon, and the stabilizing efforts of the Chapter Executive Committee, a motion for a Vote of Confidence was moved by the Governor’s Personal Assistant on Grassroots Mobilization, Mr. Johnson Ayara, and was unanimously adopted by the entire party structure.

The meeting ended with renewed commitments to strengthen the party’s grassroots operations, improve collaboration, and position the APC in ONNA as a formidable force ahead of future elections.
