“You Deserve a Good Home” – Gov Eno Tells Supporter, Udosen ahead of Wedding on Sunday
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reached out to one of his
ardent supporters, Mr. Abasiakan Udosen, Supervisor for Youths and Sports in Abak Local Government Area, whose wedding comes up on Sunday. December 7, 2025, saying he deserves a good home.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs, Prince NsikakAbasi Umoekpo, the Governor recalled that Mr. Udosen had through his personal resources, built and furnished two Compassionate Homes for vulnerable families in Afaha Obong, Abak LGA.
He noted that a man who through his limited resources, provided shelter for the vulnerable, deserves a good home and therefore prayed that God will blessed his marriage and provide him with a good home.
Recollect that Governor Eno had earlier issued a formal commendation letter applauding Mr. Udosen’s compassion toward two indigent women in Afaha Obong, Madam Affiong Friday and Mrs. Hannah Okon, describing the gesture as true translation of the ARISE Agenda.
The Governor who presented support packages for the wedding, said it was a direct acknowledgement of the Supervisor’s uncommon humanitarian spirit, stressing that the State under his leadership will continue to recognize and appreciate those who advance the cause of the ARISE Agenda.
According to the Governor’s representative, “His Excellency asked me to come personally because what you have done is not ordinary. You have taken the ARISE Compassionate Homes initiative and reproduced it with your own earnings as a Supervisor. That level of sacrifice is rare. The Governor believes that people who genuinely touch lives deserve to be celebrated,” he said.
He added that Mr. Udosen’s action was a clear demonstration that the ARISE Agenda is inspiring citizens to become active participants in community development.
“You did not lament that there is no money in the system. You simply saw a need and responded with love. That is the Akwa Ibom the Governor is building, one where compassion becomes a way of life,” he added.
The Abak Council Secretary, Dcn. Gift Umoh who witnessed the presentation, described the gesture as well deserved and reflective of purposeful leadership.
“What Mr. Udosen has done has changed the narrative in Abak. He has shown that leadership is not by position but by impact. The Governor’s recognition today is not just to honour him, but to challenge others to emulate the spirit of compassion,” he said.
Responding, Mr. Udosen said he was overwhelmed by the Governor’s kindness, noting that the ARISE Agenda motivated him to act selflessly.
“I simply followed the foot steps of His Excellency. He has shown us that true governance is about lifting those at the bottom. I only did my small part, I never imagined that the Governor would even notice, much more honour me like this,” he said.
He expressed gratitude for the support package ahead of his wedding, describing it as an unexpected blessing.
Mr Udosen further stated that the gesture had strengthened his resolve to continue helping people and reaffirmed his loyalty to the Governor.
In attendance were the Governor’s Personal Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs, Mrs. Mfon Israel, as well as the Dean of Supervisors in Abak LGA, Hon. Ime Ibah, among others.
