The Executive Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (AK-SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk, PhD, has called on political leaders and stakeholders across Akwa Ibom State to intensify grassroots support for Governor Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, in order to sustain the administration’s people-centred development agenda.

Receiving members of the Nsit Ibom Legislative Council, 8th Assembly, on a courtesy visit at the AK-SUBEB Headquarters, Rt. Hon. Etuk commended Governor Umo Eno for the unprecedented reforms in the basic education sector, particularly the timely release of counterpart funds, approval for massive infrastructure upgrades in public primary and junior secondary schools, improved teachers’ welfare and the ongoing recruitment of 1,000 teachers to bridge staffing gaps in public schools across the state.

He described the Governor’s interventions as practical demonstrations of his commitment to building a stronger educational foundation for future generations, noting that the ARISE Agenda continues to reposition basic education through strategic investments in infrastructure, human capital development and improved learning outcomes.

The AK-SUBEB Chairman urged the councillors to remain steadfast in mobilising grassroots support for Governor Umo Eno and educating their constituents on the numerous achievements of the administration. He also stressed the importance of unity, cooperation and continuous prayers for leaders, while encouraging qualified youths from Nsit Ibom and across the state to take advantage of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise approved by the Governor.
