Dr Akata Holds Appreciation Meeting as Urban Stakeholders Pass Vote of Confidence for Second Term

Rallies Support for President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Ekong Sampson and Dr Eunice Thomas

The Urban stakeholders in Eket Local Government Area, comprising of Urban 2, Urban 3 and Urban 4, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Deputy Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr. Nsidibe Akata, in recognition of what they described as his outstanding legislative performance and effective representation.

The resolution was reached during an appreciation meeting convened by Dr. Nsidibe Akata to thank Urban stakeholders and executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their unwavering support.

‎Setting the tone, the Leader of the Urban Geopolitical Zone, Chief Christopher Isong, commended Dr. Akata for his exemplary leadership, noting that he has set a commendable standard in legislative service while remaining accessible to his constituents.

‎He appreciated the lawmaker for organizing the stakeholders’ meeting as a demonstration of gratitude and inclusiveness.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, described Dr. Akata as an exceptional leader whose impressive performance in the State House of Assembly has earned him admiration beyond ethnic and political boundaries.

‎Also speaking, the APC Senatorial Chairman, Mr. Victor Edon, praised Dr. Akata for his quality leadership and commitment to the welfare of his people.

He urged stakeholders to mobilize massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senator Ekong Sampson, and House of Representatives candidate Dr. Eunice Thomas in the forthcoming general elections, calling for total victory for all APC candidates.

‎‎Former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr. David Lawrence, emphasized the need for greater collaboration, unity, and teamwork within the party.

‎He called on APC members to remain steadfast in supporting Dr. Akata and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎In their separate goodwill messages, Hon. Mrs. Joy Ekanem, Obonganwan Grace Uso, Chief Akpan Monday, and Bishop Ette applauded Dr. Akata’s outstanding legislative achievements, describing his performance in the Assembly as exemplary. They pledged their continued support for his re-election bid in 2027.

‎The APC Chairman in Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Inyang Ebuk, called for stronger collaboration, unity, and purposeful leadership within the party.

‎He urged members to remain committed to supporting Dr. Akata, Governor Umo Eno, President Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The highlight of the meeting was the unanimous adoption of a vote of confidence on Dr. Nsidibe Akata for what stakeholders described as his sterling performance in legislative duties, oversight responsibilities, and effective representation.

The stakeholders also unanimously resolved to give their full support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senator Ekong Sampson, and Dr. Eunice Thomas, while pledging to work towards delivering overwhelming electoral victories for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The attendance comprises of APC chapter and ward executives, Councillors, Supervisors and Special Advisers, Party Stakeholders, Special Assistant, Personal Assistant and ward Personal Assistant to the Governor, former councillors, supervisors and notable stakeholders from Urban geo political zone, among others.
