‎GOV ENO REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR PRIVATE SECTOR, COMMISSIONS FIDELITY BANK EKET BRANCH

‎Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting and partnering with financial institutions and other private-sector players to stimulate economic growth, create opportunities and accelerate the overall development of the state.

‎The Governor stated this on Tuesday at the official commissioning of the Fidelity Bank branch located on Grace Bill Road, Eket.Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Emem Bob represented Governor Umo Eno ‎

Represented at the event by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Emem Almond Bob, Governor Eno described the establishment of the bank’s Eket branch as a significant milestone and a testament to Fidelity Bank’s confidence in the economic potentials and growth prospects of Akwa Ibom State.

‎The Governor assured investors and business owners that his administration would continue to provide the enabling environment necessary for businesses to thrive, while expressing appreciation to the management of Fidelity Bank for choosing Eket as one of its business locations.

‎He described Eket as a land of “endless possibilities,” noting that the government recognises the critical role of the private sector in driving sustainable economic growth through investment, innovation and job creation.

‎Governor Eno said the opening of the Fidelity Bank branch aligns with his administration’s economic vision for the state as encapsulated in the ARISE Agenda.

‎He therefore encouraged the bank to remain focused on its core mandate of providing accessible, affordable and innovative financial solutions, particularly to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), women-owned businesses, young entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers and other productive sectors of the state’s economy.

‎Earlier, the Executive Director, South-South, Fidelity Bank, Mrs. Pamela Shodipo, described the occasion as a significant milestone in the bank’s operations, stressing the importance of making banking services simple, accessible and customer-focused.

‎She said Fidelity Bank remained committed to delivering exceptional financial services that support small businesses, which she described as the backbone of the economy.

‎Also speaking, the Executive Director, Risk Management, Fidelity Bank, Mr. Kevin Ugwuoke, said the bank’s presence in Eket was driven by its commitment to supporting businesses, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for the people of Akwa Ibom State.

‎Ugwuoke appreciated the Akwa Ibom State Government for its support and encouragement of businesses in the state, while urging citizens to take advantage of the bank’s various products and services to grow and expand their businesses.

‎The event, which attracted eminent personalities from across the state, including key players in the private sector, featured goodwill messages from some long-standing customers of the bank.

‎A major highlight of the occasion was the cutting of the birthday cake in honour of the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Emem Almond Bob, who is also an alumnus of Fidelity Bank.
