EFCMP Inspects Idua Road Intervention, Commends Gov Eno on Swift Response

The Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals (EFCMP) on Monday, October 19, 2026, inspected the completed portion of Idua Road in Eket Local Government Area, expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work done.

The inspection team, led by the forum’s Chairman, Comrade Enobong Nsimah, visited the rehabilitated section of the road which had completely collapsed and become impassable for motorists and residents a few weeks ago.

Speaking during the inspection, Comrade Nsimah commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, for his swift response to the forum’s earlier publication drawing attention to the deplorable state of the road.

Nsimah noted that the Governor’s prompt intervention has restored free flow of traffic and brought relief to residents, business owners and commuters who ply the busy road daily.

“We are impressed with what we have seen today. A few weeks ago, this portion of Idua Road was in a terrible state and almost cut off the community. Today, it has been fully rehabilitated. This shows that Governor Umo Eno is a listening Governor who prioritizes the welfare of his people in line with his ARISE Agenda,” Nsimah said.

He also applauded the construction firm, Hensek Integrated Services Ltd who handled the project for the timely completion and quality of work executed, which has eased movement for motorists and pedestrians in the area.

He however appealed to Governor Umo Eno to also extend similar intervention to other adjoining roads in Eket to ensure complete rehabilitation and durability, especially as the dry season sets in.

Nsimah reaffirmed the commitment of the EFCMP to continue to play its watchdog role by drawing government attention to critical infrastructure needs within Eket Federal Constituency while also acknowledging and projecting government efforts when necessary.

Residents in the area who spoke during the inspection expressed gratitude to the State Government for the quick intervention.
