I met my husband at the ever-busy Itam Market in Uyo — in the middle of all the hustle, I found my peace.

Back then, during the DVD era when we’d go to the market just to buy movies, I went in search of some new titles. As I was selecting, I noticed a young man staring at me. I turned and asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

He smiled and said, “I love your eyes.”

As fate would have it, he had come to buy the exact same movies I wanted — Spartacus and Merlin. After we picked them out, he offered to pay for mine.

Right there, he asked for my number. That was how it all began — we became friends, and today, we are about to become husband and wife.
