ACHIEVEMENTS OF HON. ALFRED CHARLES IN (20) MONTHS AS CHAIRMAN, NSIT UBIUM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
1. Promotion and preservation of Nsit Ubium’s rich cultural heritage through the December 2024 celebration.
2. Enhancement of council safety through the installation of solar-powered street lights.
3. Strengthening of Council Secretariat security through partnership with 20 Nigerian Peace Corps personnel.
4. Employment of 20 Casual Staff.
5. Securing of the Council premises with 1,600m perimeter fencing.
6. Implementation of effective waste management through the “Keep Nsit Ubium Clean” Initiative.
7. Provision of financial assistance to and payment of hospital bills for over 200 youths in Nsit Ubium.
8. Payment of school fees for numerous indigenes of Nsit Ubium.
9. Renovation/furnishing of Conference Hall in the Council.
10. Renovation of Chairman’s office and Executive Council Chamber.
11. Renovation/furnishing of Legislative Chamber for Councillors.
12. Purchase of 2025/26 JAMB/UTME Forms for over 500 candidates.
13. Procurement of over 175 personal computers, bringing the total to 225 at the Patience Umo Eno ICT Centre.
14. Installation of 70KW and 30KVA solar power systems and provision of 24-hours internet services at the Patience Umo Eno ICT Centre.
15. Establishment and launching of an Education Trust Fund for outstanding students from Nsit Ubium.
16. Grading of over 30 rural roads across the local government.
17. Free medical outreach programs in April 2025.
18. Construction of Urua Ntakrok model market comprising 3 blocks of lock up stores that are made up of 36 stores & 378 open partitioned shades, 6 multi open shades, toilets, generator house, water tank and market offices.
19. Training of 22 indigenes on skill acquisition.
20. Distribution of 20,000 Educational Grant to the first batch of students in higher institutions under 100million Nsit Ubium Education Trust Fund.
21. Landscaping and beautifications of Council Secretariat.
22. Renovation/furnishing of offices in Administrative Block.
23. Installation of solar powered street lights in the Ikot Okoro Ubium and it’s environs.
24. Construction of solar powered water boreholes with reticulation in Ndiya Ikot Ukpa, Ikot Uso, etc.
25. Provision of Vehicles for Council Officials.
26. Renovation/furnishing of Supervisors office.
