Dr Judith Mayen Ogbara Joins Gov. Umo Eno at Eket Town Square Meeting
Hon. Dr. Judith Mayen Ogbara, Chairperson of the Advisory Board for the Gender Education, Engagement, Empowerment, and Entrepreneurship Program (GEEEEP) and SSA to the President Federal Republic of Nigeria, showed her support for Governor Umo Eno’s empowerment program by attending the Eket Town Square Meeting.
The event, held on August 3, 2025, saw the Governor disburse over N400 million to 1,076 beneficiaries in Eket Federal Constituency.
The empowerment program, which aims to support entrepreneurship and economic growth in the state, saw 268 constituents benefit from the ARISE Farmers grant, 549 from the ARISE Traders grant, and 239 from the ARISE Equipment support scheme. Additionally, eight individuals received N5 million MSME grants, while 12 others were gifted cars and mini buses.
In his address, Governor Umo Eno emphasized that the empowerment program is open to all qualified Akwa Ibomites who registered with the ARISE empowerment portal, stressing that it is not tailored to favor any political party.
He also took the opportunity to clear the air on his relationship with his political father, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, stating that there is no issue between them and that they have moved in the best interest of Akwa Ibom State.
The Governor’s visit to Eket Federal Constituency was marked by a massive turnout, with stakeholders and residents expressing their appreciation for his development initiatives.
Other notable attendees included Hon. Akan Tommy, Chairman of Eket Local Government Area; Hon. Frank Archibong; Senator Helen Esuene; Chief Nduese Essien; Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong; Hon. Pat Ifon; Bassey Dan Abia Jr; and Hon. Sam Ekpenyong, among others.
The legislators from the Federal Constituency also moved a motion adopting Governor Umo Eno as their sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
