Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals Commemorates Lord U D U Etuk at 90

It was a memorable and heartwarming moment yesterday as media practitioners under the aegis of Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals (EFCMP) forum led by Comrade Enobong Nsimah paid a special visit to Lord U D U Etuk to celebrate him on attaining the remarkable age of 90 years.

The visit was more than a birthday celebration. It was a tribute to a life of experience, wisdom, service, leadership and remarkable contributions to society.

The media delegation came bearing goodwill, honour and appreciation for a man whose journey through nine decades has been marked by significant moments and enduring relationships.

In an atmosphere filled with warmth, laughter and nostalgia, the media practitioners celebrated the nonagenarian and expressed gratitude to God for granting him the grace to witness such a historic milestone.

In his speech, the Chairman of the forum, Comrade Enobong Nsima eulogized Lord Etuk for his huge investment in human development and outstanding contributions to the society, applauded him for leaving behind lasting legacies that will stand the test of time.

An excited Nsima was impressed that despite Lord Etuk age, he was still physically strong, walking majestically on his own without any support to receive his guests, praying God to continue to sustain him beyond his centenary celebration.

He further described him as a role model for the younger generation to emulate, charging his colleagues to learn more from the life of Lord Etuk.

Responding, Lord Etuk thanked members of Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals forum for celebrating him at 90, maintaining that the visit is very significant.

He took the media professionals to memory lane how he finished standard six and got employed in Shell and worked for 30 years before retiring to private businesses.

Lord Etuk also mentioned that he has supported many and invested in building the local church as part of his contribution to the society, urging the media professionals to live very simple life and not offending people so that they can live long.

Also speaking, the first daughter of Lord Etuk, Mrs. Judith Ogbara, commended EFCMP for celebrating with his Dad, stressing that she doesn’t take the courtesy for granted.

Goodwill messages were received by the trio of Peter Bassey aka Peters Buhari, Peace Obiofia Etop and Obong Emmanuel Almand Paragon Mbong on behalf of the forum while Minister Joseph Ekong moderated the proceedings.
