GOV ENO REASSURES COMMITMENT TO GOOD GOVERNANCE

Wins APC Nomination at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his commitment to good governance as the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II nominated him as governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.

Speaking shortly after the primary held at Government Primary School, Ikot Akpabin, the Governor said the overwhelming support for his re-election is a call to greater service, stressing that he will put in his best in the “Call To Service, Part Two.”

Governor Eno said the ARISE Agenda will be assessed to identify gaps, and efforts would be made to plug them for the good of the State, revealing that ARISE Agenda 2.0 is in the offing.

He acknowledged with gratitude to God and Akwa Ibom people that it was the first time in history that the party would have only one governorship candidate.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the entire members of the National Assembly “for providing the template and enacting the law to abolish indirect primaries, which has now made primaries to become very free, fair, and transparent for everyone to see.”

He also appreciated the leadership and all members of the APC in the State for the nomination.

“What you have done today is indeed a clear message for me to work some more. And, I understand the message perfectly.

“I stand here to assure you that by the grace of God, I will continue to put in my best in the service of this land, Akwa Ibom State,” he said.

The Governor reassured President Tinubu of the State’s support for his nomination and re-election to enable him complete his lofty developmental initiatives.

He also appreciated the Senate President Akpabio for his support and assured of the State’s support for his re-election to the Senate and subsequently, to be the Senate President of the 11th Senate.

Governor Eno called on other political parties in the State and beyond to emulate the APC which, he said, has conducted a free, fair and transparent primaries that have been worthy of emulation.

The State Chief Executive urged those that will emerge as candidates of other political parties to avoid campaign of calumny but focus on issues, to avoid heating up the polity.
