GOV ENO’S AIDE, OTHERS, MOURN EMMAN MBONG, MARGARET EMMAN SAMMY

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ndueso, along with members of the Eket Federal Constituency Media Forum, Friday went on a condolence visit to two families over the loss of their loved ones.
The families visited include that of late Obongiwad Emmanuel Mbong, whose death came as a shock to colleagues, friends, and admirers across the media and entertainment industry; as well as Mr Emman Sammy, a retired Director in the State Civil Service, who recently lost his wife, Margaret Emman Sammy.
At the residence of Late Obongiwad Mbong, the Chairman of the forum, Mr. Enobong Nsima, described the deceased, as an individual whose life has positively impacted the people of Eket.
He noted that his absence would be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Essien Ndueso, who is the BOT Chairman of the forum, offered prayers for the soul of the deceased, while words of comfort and encouragement were extended to the bereaved family.
He described Mr Mbong, as a round character who fitted well into any role that enabled him pursue the interest of his people.
“If we who have no biological ties to him could be so grief stricken by his sudden departure, it is left to be imagined, what the family passes through with each passing day without him.
The younger brother of the deceased, Captain Willie Mbong, President of Afigh Iwaad Eket, expressed appreciation to the team, thanking members for taking time out of their busy schedules to mourn with the family.
At the residence of Mr. Emman Sammy, the team also condoled with the family over the passing of their wife and mother, Mrs. Margaret Emman Sammy.
Dr. Ndueso who described Mr Sammy as a trailblazer in the media industry, recounted that he had been one of those who motivated him to join the profession.
Ndueso regretted that after a meritorious service to his State, the retired Director lost his wife at a time he would have enjoyed her companionship more.
In that same vein, Mr. Enobong Nsimah noted that the loss of a life partner is a painful experience and commended Mr. Sammy for the strength he has demonstrated during this difficult period.
The visit provided an opportunity for members of the forum to express their heartfelt sympathy and stand in solidarity with him during his period of grief.
The team also invited Mr Sammy to join the Federal Constituency media forum, having met all the criteria of media professionalism.
The visit ended on a positive note, with the bereaved expressing appreciation for the show of love, solidarity , and companionship.
He said although he least expected the visit, he was however lifted by the pleasant surprise.
