Hon. Sam Witnesses Delivery of Processing Facilities by Nsik Oil and Gas Company Limited at Project Site

The Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Hon. Kufre Sam, JP, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, visited the project site of Nsik Oil and Gas Company Ltd at Uqua Isi Edoho, Esit Eket Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

Nsik Oil and Gas Company Ltd is one of the CNG mother stations promoted by the Midstream Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF) and supervised by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Gas).

It will be recalled that a few months ago, the Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. (Obongemem) Ekperikpe Ekpo, PhD, alongside other stakeholders from the oil and gas industry, officially performed the groundbreaking ceremony with a promise of immediate commencement of the project upon arrival of the equipment.

Speaking with the press, Hon. Kufre Sam said he was happy that the Chief Consultant of Nsik Oil and Gas Company Ltd, Engr. Mkposong Asuquo, invited him to witness the arrival of the first set of facilities from China at the project site.

He noted that what he witnessed has given him first-hand information to brief the Honourable Minister, who is committed to the actualisation of the project, upon his return to Abuja.

The Special Adviser applauded the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who, upon removal of fuel subsidy, made CNG an alternative to PMS aimed at ameliorating the high cost of transportation, goods and services.

“I am very happy because the reality of what Mr. President has been preaching has come to birth in Esit Eket LGA and, by extension, Akwa Ibom State,” he noted.

He further thanked the Honourable Minister, Rt. Hon. (Obongemem) Ekperikpe Ekpo, PhD, who has been very passionate and intentional about the project, hence his approval for the two stations — Esit Eket and Ibesikpo mother stations.

“These CNG mother stations, when fully operational, will create job opportunities, thereby promoting the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Hon. Sam noted.

Earlier, Engr. Mkposong Asuquo, Consultant for Nsik Oil and Gas Company Ltd, disclosed that the project is a 10 Million Standard Cubic Feet (SCF) CNG capacity mother station. He appreciated the efforts of the Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), whom he described as instrumental in bringing the CNG station to the state.

He noted that it was through the efforts of Minister Ekpo that the company has had it easy.

Engr. Mkposong further disclosed that the facility will be commissioned for full operational service before the end of 2026.
