The attention of the Akwa Ibom State Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission (EARCOM) has been drawn to an online post on the above mentioned headline, recently made by one of its Board members, Rev Osondu Ahirika, PhD
While we recognize the right of every individual, including Ahirika, to freedom of expression, it is important to state clearly and unequivocally that the views expressed in the post under review were made strictly in his personal capacity as a pastor who is deeply involved in the Ministry of reconciliation.
EARCOM, as an institution, did not authorize, sanction, or endorse the said post. Therefore , the positions, sentiments, or interpretations therein do not reflect the official stance, mission, or policies of EARCOM.
We deeply regret any misrepresentation that the post may have caused to our partners, stakeholders, especially our youth populace and the general public.
As a body committed to integrity, transparency, and responsible communication, we reaffirm our unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of ethics in public engagement.
We also wish to reassure the general public that EARCOM will continue to promote the policies and programmes of Arise Agenda which include promoting ethical conducts and behaviours of our citizenry.
We respectfully urge all media platforms, stakeholders, and members of the public to treat the said post solely as a personal expression of the author and not as a reflection of EARCOM’s official position.
