Youth President Lauds Chief Assam Assam for including Esit Urua in 12km road project

The Youth President of Idung Adiakod village, Esit Urua community in Eket Local Government Area, Pastor Itoro Bassey Adiakod, has commended the political leader of Eket Senatorial District, Chief Assam Assam, SAN for including Esit Urua in the additional 12km road project recently approved by Governor Umo Eno for Eket LGA.

Adiakod made the commendation through a post on his verified Facebook page, where he commended the political leader for inclusive leadership, remembering those that have been forgotten and embracing every community in development activities.

He wrote: “Today, I proudly celebrate a distinguished leader, Ambassador Assam Assam, APC Senatorial Leader, a man whose leadership continues to demonstrate that true representation is about looking inward, remembering the forgotten, and giving every community a sense of belonging.

The Idung Adiakod youth leader salute the wisdom and courage of learned silk for considering communities that haven’t felt government presence, saying his effort to ensure that development is evenly distributed is a justification that he is indeed a detribalized leader.

“Sir, your contribution towards ensuring that the neglected and forgotten areas of Eket LGA are remembered in the recent 12km road projects promised by His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, is highly commendable,” said Adiakod.

“As the Youth President of Idung Adiakod Village, Esit Urua Community, I sincerely salute your wisdom, courage, and the God-given understanding to look beyond the obvious and advocate for communities that have waited for development for many years.

“Your effort in ensuring that development is properly distributed across Eket land is a clear demonstration that every community matters and every citizen deserves a sense of belonging in our God-given land.

The Youth President further appreciated Chief Assam on behalf of his community for the road project, noting that his gesture has rekindle hope of his people and close the development gap that has existed over the years.

“Sir, the entire people of Idung Adiakod Village, Esit Urua Community, deeply appreciate this kind gesture. By remembering our ancient village and its place on the landmark of Eket, you have helped to rekindle hope in our people and begin to close the development gap that has existed for years.

He maintained that the gesture will not only boost economic activities, but will also renew their sense of belonging as an integral part of Eket local government area.

“This is more than a road. It is connectivity. It is economic opportunity. It is access to development. It is dignity. It is hope. It is a renewed sense of belonging.

“On behalf of the youths and the entire people of Idung Adiakod Village, Esit Urua Community, I say a very big Thank You, Sir! May God Almighty continue to give you wisdom, strength, good health and greater capacity to champion the interests of our people.

Recall Governor Umo Eno two months ago during the commissioning of Mkpok Estate Road constructed by his administration, announced additional 12km road for Eket Local Government Area and asked Chief Assam Assam, SAN to submit the list of roads to make up the 12km for his approval.

While responding to enquiry about the 12km road by Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals (EFCMP) during a courtesy visit to him at his country home of Ede Urua, Chief Assam Assam, SAN who is the former Nigeria Ambassador to Russia and Belarus, maintained that the 12km road projects were strategically distributed across rural and urban communities to ensure wider development impact.

Explaining further about the projects, he listed the 5.7km Okpongkpong–RCC–Afaha Uqua–Marina Junction Road; 2.1km Emmanuel Ekott University Road; Idung Offiong–Osiok Road; Technical School Road Efoi; Ndon Idong–Adiakod Road in Esit Urua leading to Qua Iboe River; and the Ikot Nsidibe–Ikot Obioro Road in Okon.

Chief Assam, who is also the Director General of Government Business, assured of more roads and developmental projects in Eket as will be directed by the Governor.
