HON. INIBEHE UMAH VISITS IBAM EDET COMMUNITY FOR NEW YAM FESTIVAL

The Executive Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, Hon. Inibehe Umah, today, September 20, 2026, visited Ibam Edet Community in what he described as a homecoming, as he joined the people to celebrate the New Yam Festival and interact with the community.

Hon. Umah, whose mother hails from Ibam Edet, said his visit was more than a ceremonial engagement, describing it as a return home to identify with his people and contribute meaningfully to the development of the community.

Speaking on his administration’s development vision, Hon. Umah said he was determined to touch the lives of the people of Ini from every nook and cranny, assuring residents that no community would be left behind in the distribution of the dividends of government.

As part of his commitment to youth empowerment, the Chairman announced the empowerment of selected youths with ₦500,000 each, aimed at helping them establish or strengthen their businesses and livelihoods.

He further assured the women of the community that they would also be captured in his administration’s empowerment programmes, stressing that the benefits of government must be felt by all segments of society.

Setting the tone earlier, Prince Peter Samuel Inyang expressed gratitude to the Chairman for identifying with his people and giving attention to the needs of the community. He pledged his continued support for the administration of Hon. Umah.

The people of Ibam Edet warmly received the Chairman, expressing appreciation for his decision to celebrate the New Yam Festival with them and for his commitment to the development of the community. They pledged their unflinching support for the Chairman in all his political pursuits.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Village Head of Ibam Obot Enen, Obong Samuel Inyang Udo (JP), thanked Hon. Umah for identifying with the people of the Ibam Group of Villages and for his commitment to changing the narrative of governance in Ini.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the Chairman, so that he would continue to positively impact the lives of the people and advance the development of Ini Local Government Area.

Hon. Umah was warmly received with excitement by the women, youths and elders.
