MKPAT ENIN CHAIRMAN DISBURSES ₦34 MILLION IN BURSARY TO 580 INDIGENT STUDENTS‎

‎…Pays ₦100,000 to 100 Postgraduates, ₦50,000 to 480 Undergraduates

‎The Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Hon. (Engr.) Emmanuel Inyang, has disbursed bursary funds worth over ₦34 million to indigent students of Mkpat Enin studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

‎Under the bursary scheme, 100 postgraduate students received ₦100,000 each, while 480 undergraduate students received ₦50,000 each to support their academic pursuits.

‎The initiative forms part of the Chairman’s commitment to educational advancement as captured in his EMMANCIPATION Blueprint and aligns with the ARISE Agenda of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, particularly in the area of human capital development.

‎Speaking during the disbursement exercise, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making education a priority, noting that investing in education remains one of the surest ways of securing the future of Mkpat Enin.

‎He stated that the bursary programme was designed to ease the financial burden on students and their families, while encouraging academic excellence among young people in the area.

‎The Chairman noted that his administration has continued to implement several educational support programmes, including the payment of educational grants to students, sponsorship of JAMB candidates, support for Law and Medical students, ICT training, and the distribution of educational materials to public schools across Mkpat Enin.

‎According to him, the bursary disbursement is another demonstration of his administration’s resolve to empower the younger generation through education and create opportunities for them to succeed.

‎Beneficiaries of the programme expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman for the gesture, describing the bursary as timely and impactful. They noted that the support would go a long way in assisting them with tuition, research, and other academic expenses.

‎The bursary scheme has attracted commendations from stakeholders across the Local Government Area, with many describing it as one of the most significant educational interventions undertaken by the current administration.
