ABIA COMMISSIONERS EXPLAIN CHOICE OF AKWA IBOM FOR RETREAT

COMMEND GOV ENO’S DEVELOPMENT STRIDES

Commissioners in the Abia State Executive Council have lauded Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on the impact recorded by his administration in the state.

The commissioners made the commendation at the Arise Palm Resort, where they were received and conducted round by their counterparts from Akwa Ibom State during a private retreat to the State.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Dean of the Abia State College of Commissioners and Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN), said they retreated to Akwa Ibom to strengthen their working relationship, assess their achievements over the last three years, and explore better ways of collaborating as colleagues for the continued progress of Abia State.

He described the Arise Palm Resort as a magnificent and inspiring project, noting that the facility reflects the vision and commitment of Governor Umo Eno towards tourism development and economic growth.

Uwanna said the delegation was impressed by what they saw in the state and would return home with valuable lessons, fresh inspiration and positive experiences that could be shared to drive development in their home State.

“We think the State Government has done well. This place is quite inspiring and we are going back with a lot of inspiration. We have many good stories to tell when we get home,” he stated.

The Dean also expressed appreciation to the Akwa Ibom State Government and officials for the warm reception accorded the visitors and for taking time to conduct them round the State despite their busy schedules.

Explaining why the retreat was held outside Abia State, Uwanna said the commissioners deliberately chose a location away from the pressures of daily official responsibilities to create an atmosphere conducive for reflection, brainstorming and team bonding.

According to him, Akwa Ibom was selected because of its proximity as a neighbouring state, its serene environment and its widely acknowledged culture of hospitality.

He added that the road trip to Akwa Ibom and the peaceful ambience of the State provided the commissioners with an opportunity to engage meaningfully, share ideas, relax and strengthen camaraderie, making the retreat both productive and memorable.

The visit further highlights the growing recognition of Akwa Ibom as a preferred destination for conferences, retreats, tourism and leisure, driven by the investments and people-oriented policies of the Pastor Eno administration.

Welcoming the team to the ARISE Palm Resort, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia appreciated the team for the visit.

Dr Udofia who was flanked by his colleagues in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council said, “On behalf of my Boss the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, we are pleased to receive you.

“I hope you are pleased with what you’ve seen here in our State.”

He said beyond the Arise Palm Resort, Gov Eno has his bold signature across the entire State in the projects he has executed across all sectors.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ekem John narrated the success story of the Governor in the Health Care Sector, and specifically invited them to the Medical Corridor of the State, to witness the ongoing 300 bed international hospital , the Elderly Citizen’s Center and the Medical Village.
