Afigh Iwaad Ekid Stakeholders Committee insists Election will hold
Afigh Iwaad Ekid Stakeholders Committee
Press Statement for immediate release
1. The attention of the Afigh Iwaad Ekid Stakeholder’s Committee has been drawn to the news of imminent crises and probable blood shed in the upcoming Afigh Iwaad Ekid Elections scheduled for tomorrow Sunday 2nd November 2025 .
2. This news is untrue, and the Afigh Iwaad Stakeholders Committee in consultation with the AFECOM can state that the elections would proceed as scheduled and that there are no contending issues from any party that would generate any controversy or crises at the scheduled elections.
3. We met at the Police Area Commander’s Office, upon receipt of Petitions by one party, that fees were charged selectively from one camp and not the other; and also that the delegate list was manipulated.
4. The Stakeholders Committee has resolved that if fees were charged, for these elections, it was in error, and such fees should be refunded.
5. In constituting the AFECOM, the contending parties nominated 2 members each, while the Secretary emerged from the now protesting party.
6. The stakeholders committee has met with AFECOM tonight, and it is satisfied that unauthorised fees would be refunded.
7. Stakeholders Committee has approved the inclusion of any omitted statutory delegates and that the delegate list of delegates signed by the representative of both parties ( Chairman and Secretary of AFECOM) would be deemed as the acceptable list to both parties.
8. The resolutions at the Police Area Command were binding on both parties and we hereby assure all members of Afigh Iwaad Ekid, delegates, and the Ekid people that the elections will hold freely and fairly tomorrow as scheduled, without any blood shed.
9. Thank you
Dr Samuel Udonsak
