In a strong display of unity, the Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals (EFCMP) has unanimously endorsed Comrade Nsibiet Udo John as their sole candidate for the chairmanship of the Akwa Ibom State NUJ election, scheduled for August 2, 2025.

The forum’s Chairman, Comrade Itoro Etti, announced the endorsement today, citing Comrade Nsibiet’s proven capacity to lead and elevate the journalism profession in the state.

Etti emphasized the group’s pride in having one of their own vie for the prestigious position and pledged their full support to ensure his victory.

In his response, Comrade Nsibiet John outlined his vision for the NUJ, promising to enhance members’ welfare, promote professionalism, foster collaboration with government, international organizations, and the private sector, and strengthen the union’s social capital. He expressed gratitude for the forum’s unwavering support throughout his campaign.

The event culminated in a cash donation of 206,000 naira, and a unanimous endorsement by EFCMP members, solidifying their commitment to Comrade Nsibiet’s candidacy.

The event had in attendance the immediate past Chairman of the group, Iwaad Comrade Jerryz Edoho, Immediate past PRO Edet Friday Edet, Treasurer of the group, Comrade Peace Bassey, PRO Comrade Ubong Itama, Comrade Enobong Nsimah, Comrade Ime Ben, Comrade Jerry Assam.

Others include Comrade Unwana Assam, Nsikan Johnny, Imaobong Umoekah, Miriam Itama, Joseph Ekong, Victor Edoho and Emem Gbenga.
