‎Eket APC Women drawn from various political wards, today converged at the Eket residence of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, for their 2026 get-together aimed at strengthening support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and consolidating grassroots mobilization ahead of the forthcoming political processes.

‎Addressing the gathering, the host, Dr. Bright Archibong reaffirmed that Eket women remain unwaveringly loyal to the leadership of Governor Pastor Umo Eno, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the political leader of Eket Senatorial District, His Excellency, Barrister Assam and unanimously endorsed Dr. Eunice Thomas as the consensus APC candidate for the Eket/Esit Eket/ONNA/Ibeno Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

‎She emphasized that the gathering was designed to deepen grassroots connection, promote the Renewed Hope agenda, and foster sustainable development opportunities for women across Eket Local Government Area, urging them to remain united, resolute, and committed to speaking with one voice in support of the APC and its candidates.

‎The women also threw their weight behind Dr. Nsidibe Akata for a second term in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, citing his impressive performance in oversight duties and legislative responsibilities.

‎The gathering also witnessed a consultative visit by the leading House of Representatives aspirant, Dr. Eunice Thomas, who received a warm and enthusiastic reception from the women.

‎The event was graced by notable political leaders including the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong; Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey; Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Mkpisong Akan Tommey, Member representing Eket State Constituency, Dr. Nsidibe Akata.

‎In their separate remarks, the leaders charged the women to remain steadfast in their support for the APC while commending Governor Umo Eno for his visionary, peaceful, and transformational leadership across Akwa Ibom State.

‎Speaking ahead of the party primary, the leaders unanimously declared Dr. Eunice Thomas as the trusted and dependable choice of the people for the House of Representatives seat, describing her as a credible, vibrant and experience to deliver effective representation in line with the development vision of Governor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and, called for sustained prayers and support for the Senate President’s reelection bid.

‎Addressing the gathering, Dr. Eunice Thomas assured the women of her readiness and commitment to offer purposeful, dependable, and people-oriented representation marked by sincerity, genuine love and transparency. She appealed for their continued prayers and support, promising to champion policies and empowerment initiatives that would directly benefit women and the grassroots.

‎Wives of Commissioners for Labour, Finance, Sports and the wife of the Paramount ruler of Eket, HRM, Akwa Obonganwan Mandu Abia, alongside other women leaders present at the gathering, unanimously pledged their support and collective commitment towards ensuring total victory for the APC and all its candidates.
