Eket Senatorial Media Professionals Inaugurate Editorial Team for Scorecard Magazine, Endorse NUJ Chairmanship Aspirant

Uyo, The Editorial Team for the 3rd edition of The Scorecard Magazine a publication dedicated to promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance was formally inaugurated yesterday, July 26, at Decastle Hotel Annex, Bennet Bassey Street, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.

The ceremony was jointly conducted by a representative of the Association of Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals and the Chairman of the Association’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Essien Ndueso. The event drew attendance from executive members of the association, editorial board members, and distinguished scholars, including Professors Charles Obot and Herbert Batta.

The Scorecard Magazine, now entering its third edition, is the flagship publication of the Association of Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals and has carved a niche for itself as a credible platform for assessing leadership performance and policy impact in the district and beyond.

A highlight of the gathering was the visit of Comrade Nsibiet John, a frontline candidate in the forthcoming Akwa Ibom State NUJ Chairmanship election scheduled for August 2, 2025. Comrade John, who led his service campaign team on a formal consultation visit to the association, received an enthusiastic endorsement and financial support of ₦250,000 to boost his campaign.

During the meeting, editorial responsibilities for the upcoming edition of the magazine were assigned to team members, with the public presentation of the publication scheduled for September 2025.

The Scorecard Magazine continues to serve as a watchdog and policy evaluation tool, reinforcing the association’s commitment to credible journalism and informed civic engagement in Akwa Ibom State.
