Frank Archibong at 50: Novelty Football Match Between Team Frank Archibong and Team NBA

Tuesday 19, 2025 will remain a day to remember by many friends and admirers of Ikot Ibiok born politician and humanitarian, Mkpisong Frank Archibong as he marked 50 years anniversary in grand style.

The event commenced with a football match between Team Frank Archibong led by the team captain, Francis Imose aka Mkpasa while the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Team, Eket Chapter was led by Barr. Peter Ime Akpan.

Both team paraded their best players for the crucial encounter.

In Team Frank Archibong were SSA to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ekefre Ndueso, SA on Media, Mfon Bassey, PA on New Media, Jerryz Edoho, Grand Pa, Godwin Nduaesa, Hon. Inyang Ebuk, Hon John Otu, Johnny, Samuel Ettentuk, Aniefiok Ntekim aka Metro, while NBA Team had Barr. Nathan Naphtali and his colleagues.

The kickoff was performed by the Guest of Honour, Hon. Prince Ukpong Akpabio, who is Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly accompanied by Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey.

Other dignitaries that watched the match include Member representing Eket State Constituency and Deputy Leader, Hon. (Dr.) Nsidibe Akata, NUJ Chairman, Nsibiet John, President, Akwa Ibom Community Abuja, Barr. Gabriel Fan, Captain Willie Mbong, Chief of Staff to House Member, Richard Ekanem, Technical Crew including EARCOM Commissioner 2, Dr. Tommy Enodien, Village Head of Etebia, Chief Udia Duff, MD of Sadafi, Mr. Monday Ben, Edem Okon, Akpani, among others.

The Celebrant, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, later sauntered into the stadium amidst cheers from spectators, took some pictures with friends and left for urgent official function.

The match which was played at Eket Township Stadium ended in a 2 – 2 draw.

Highpoint of the Novelty Football Match was signing of football by Hon. Prince Ukpong Akpabio and Elder Paul Bassey to the admiration of all. It also featured presentation of birthday cake to the Celebrant by Female Youth.
