…….as Victorious Family Church Wins 5th Edition of Frank Archibong Classical Song Competition

The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, has urged Levites to remain steadfast, dedicated, and committed to the service of God, noting that faithful service in God’s vineyard attracts divine rewards and lasting blessings.

He gave the charge on Saturday, July 4, 2026, during the 5th Edition of the Hon. Frank Archibong Classical Song Competition, held at Victorious Family International Worship Centre, Eket.

Archibong, who hailed the participating choirs for using music as a veritable instrument for evangelism, unity, and spiritual upliftment, gave the Coordinator of the competition, Comrade Nsikan Simon, a pat on the back.

He further lauded the Coordinator of the program, for his creativity, innovation, and unwavering commitment to mobilizing and gathering the Levites across Eket Senatorial District to advance the work of God through music and to support the ARISE AGENDA of the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.

The Commissioner also used the medium to call for effective participation of all in the ongoing Continuous Voterq Registration (CVR) exercise, urging all eligible residents and Levites who are yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, describing voter registration as a civic responsibility that empowers citizens to participate in the democratic process.

As Levites residing within Eket Senatorial District, I urge you to go out and register during the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise. The strength of every government depends on the involvement of its citizens in their civic responsibilities,” Mr. Archibong stated.

He enjoined the people to support and pray for Governor Umo Eno, stressing that the Governor has performed creditably well by spreading projects across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state and therefore deserves all the support.

On her part, the Deputy Governor of the State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in her office, Mr. Joseph Esidem, charged choristers to remain faithful and dedicated in God’s vineyard.

Senator Eyakenyi commended the organizers for building capacity among choristers and urged participants to continue supporting the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Mkpisong Akaniyene Tommey, applauded the organizers for consistently celebrating God through the annual Gathering of the Levites and Song Competition.

Mkpisong Tommey pledged his continued support for the growth and sustainability of the competition in Eket LGA, and therefore made cash donations to support the winners of the 2026 edition.

The Coordinator of the event, Comrade Nsikan Simon appreciated God and all the dignitaries, particularly, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, for sponsoring the event consecutively for the 5th time. He also lauded participating choirs and every guests for their presence and contributions towards the success of the annual event.

At the end of the keenly contested competition from church choirs across Eket Senatorial District, Victorious Family Church emerged overall winner and received ₦1,000,000, while Methodist Church, Oron emerged 1st Runner-Up with ₦500,000. Mount Zion Light House Full Gospel Church, Onna LGA clinched 3rd position with ₦300,000.

Meanwhile , special recognition was accorded the oldest chorister at the event, Mrs. Marie Mbosowo Ekpo of Assemblies of God Church, Asang, Eket

She was celebrated with a gold medal and cash gift of one million Naira donated by Mkpisong. Frank Archibong, the Eket Council Chairman , Hon Akan Tommey, representative of the Deputy Governor, Chief of Staff to the Commissioner, Dr Tommy Enodien and the organizer of the event for her decades of unwavering dedication and faithfulness as a Levite.

Describing the recognition as symbolic, Hon. Archibong said it was intended to appreciate lifelong service to God and inspire younger generations to remain committed to Christian service.

The event also featured thanksgiving session, high praise and special prayers offered for Governor Umo Eno, the progenitor of the program, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, Eket Chairman, Eket senatorial district and Akwa Ibom State.
