Freda Akpabio celebrates birthday, FAHUF International 5th Anniversary

…Onile, Okereke, Creativity, Usak, others laud her humanitarian gesture

Former Miss Ibesikpo Asutan and founder, FAHUF International, Humanitarian Freda Akpabio, on Sunday, September 27, 2025, celebrated her birthday and 5 years anniversary of Freda Akpabio Humanitarian Foundation.

The dual event which took place at Villa Marina Hotels, Eket had in attendance friends, colleagues and well wishers.

Speaking at the event, Miss Akpabio expressed deep appreciation to God for sparing her life and that of two of her colleagues who were involved in a ghastly road mishap that claimed life in March this year while on their way back from Ebonyi State for humanitarian services.

The former beauty queen noted that she is overwhelmed by the love and support extended to her, saying that the celebration is not just about adding another year to her life, but about acknowledging God’s faithfulness and the privilege of serving humanity through FAHUF.

She also thanked everyone for their unwavering support towards the achievements of 5 years milestones of building a society where everyone has equal opportunity, maintaining that FAHUF International core mandate centered on reaching out to the poor, the needy and individuals with disabilities.

Speaking further, she highlighted the numerous activities of FAHUF International to include reaching out to the poor, needy and individuals with disabilities.

“At FAHUF International, our mission centered on reaching out to the poor, the needy, and individuals with disabilities. Through education, sensitization, and advocacy, we strive to uplift those who need it most. We also recognize the importance of making donations where necessary, ensuring that our efforts have a tangible impact in our communities.

“As we reflect on our achievements, we must also confront the pressing issues that challenge our society. This year, we addressed the critical matters of trafficking, gender-based violence, and ritual killings. These are not just statistics, they represent real threats to the safety and dignity of our young people. To empower ourselves and our communities, I urge each of you, especially our youth to take proactive steps to safeguard your well-being.

Miss Akpabio further acknowledged the numerous contributions by her family, friends and spirited individuals, stressing the need to rededicate themselves in creating light where there is darkness, and hope where it seems lost.

In their separate goodwill messages, Pengassan Chairman, Accugas branch, Mr. Emmanuel Onile, Warehouse Coordinator, Savannah Energy Plc, Engr Kufre Akpan of Electrical Maintenance, Savannah Energy Plc, Miss Ibesikpo Asutan, and Engr. Ekerette Usak and spouse, commended the humanitarian services rendered by Freda Akpabio, maintaining that her investment in humanity is unquantifiable.

In his remarks, the Personal Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on New Media, Ubong Creativity David, praised Miss Freda Akpabio for her sacrifice and dedication to invest in humanity, putting smile on the faces of many who were deserted and abandoned.

David, noted that God has not yet finished with Miss Akpabio for saving her life during the unfortunate road mishap that claimed a life, encouraging her to explore more opportunities in her humanitarian journey.

He called for government, funding agencies and spirited individuals to support her to fulfill her dreams of impacting lives positively.

Born on November in the late 90s to the family of Edet Akpabio, Freda hails from Afaha Atai Village in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, a graduate of Environmental Health Management, University of Uyo. On the quest to acquire more knowledge, she obtained her HND degree in Microbiology from Heritage Polytechnic, Ikot Udota, Eket.

She was one time Queen of Ibesikpo Asutan and as a Queen, she has carried out a lot of Pet Projects which include: (1) Hosting of numerous skills acquisitions for the girl child: (2) Gave scholarship to students from Ibesikpo Asutan; (3) Organized free medical outreach for the elderly; (4) Donated school materials to the children of Ibesikpo Asutan during the children’s day celebration; (5) Organized free JAMB Classes for 6 years; (6) Donated to the motherless home and food items to inmates of the correctional institutions in Uyo, and a host of others too numerous to mention.

She was the head of welfare of the Association of Beauty Queens and Kings Nigeria. Humanitarian Freda Akpabio is a Christian and a Gospel believer.

She serves in the following capacity in her local church, Prevailing Destiny Life Church:
1. Choir Director, PDF Choir; 2. Women Fellowship President, and 3. Head of Hospitality Department.

Freda Akpabio is also relevant in politics, she was the first beauty queen to contest for the position of Councillor in Akwa Ibom State. She also initiated Uyo Senatorial District Choir, a political choir group that ministered during women prayer summits in Government House Banquet, during the administration of the former Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio.

Freda has love for humanity and believe that a little help done to one person can have a ripple effect. She is glad and honoured to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of FAHUF International, an NGO focused on delivering humanitarian services to the less privileged amongst us.
