Gov Eno Condoles with Dr. Emmanuel Ekott over mother’s demise
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has condoled with the Founder of Heritage Polytechnic, Eket, Dr Emmanuel Ekott, over the demise of his mother, Deaconess Eno Ekott.
The Governor’s condolence message was delivered on 29th October, 2025, in Eket by his Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs, Prince NsikanAbasi Umoekpo.
Speaking through his Aide, Governor Eno noted that the death of a beloved mother leaves a void that cannot be filled, irrespective of age. He encouraged the bereaved family to find solace in the fact that their late matriarch lived a life dedicated to purpose.
Governor Eno commended Dr Ekott for his immense contributions to youth development, job creation and support for the ARISE Agenda, describing him as a committed supporter in the State’s advancement efforts.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, please accept our sincere condolences. Mama lived a fulfilled life, I encourage you and your entire family to uphold the virtues she imparted, even in her absence,” he said.
The Governor prayed for God’s strength and comfort for the family during this period of grief, and for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Deaconess Ekott.
Responding, Dr Emmanuel Ekott expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for the honour of the condolence visit, which he described as a rare privilege. He reaffirmed his support for the Governor’s ARISE Agenda and prayed for God’s blessings upon his administration.
The Governor’s representative, accompanied by the Personal Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs, Mrs. Mfon Israel, also presented support packages to the bereaved family.
Also present were the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Akaniyene Tommey, Chief Iniobong Idem , Hon Godwin Ndueso, The Chairman, Government Joint Labour Committee, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Research and Documentation, Dr Essien Ekefre Ndueso, Mr Mfon Bassey another media aide among others.
