Gov Eno Fulfills Promise to the Nigerian Navy, Commissions Staff Quarters at NNMS Ikot Ntuen
In fulfillment of his promise to the Nigerian Navy, Governor Umo Eno yesterday, commissioned a 20 studio room duplex donated by the Akwa Ibom State Government to the Nigeria Navy Military School, Ikot Ntuen, Oruk Anam Local government area.
Recall that Governor Eno during the POP last year, had promise to donate a residential quarters for Staff, along side the payment of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for the 2024 graduands of the school on a one-off basis.
The Governor who was the special Guest of Honour at the Passing Out Parade of the 2025 Young Sailors, urged the graduating Young Sailors to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and patriotism as they serve as ambassadors of the school, the state, and the nation.
Represented by the Commissioner for Education, Pastor Ubong Umoh, the Governor also commended the Commandant and staff of the military school for their dedication and outstanding efforts in grooming the future leaders of the Nigerian Navy.
Earlier in his address, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral E. I Ogalla, said the Passing Out Parade was organised to celebrate the graduating Young Sailors for their hard work, dedication and “most importantly, to honour the outstanding Young Sailors who have distinguished themselves”, in their academics and training.
The Naval chief, who was represented by Rear Admiral GSM Aligwe, Chief of Naval Administration, expressed appreciation to members of staff of the school for their hard work and dedication, adding, that the commandant and his team’s efforts in grooming and training these young Nigerians are glaring and highly commendable.
The elated Naval Chief commended the sustained investment of His Excellency in the development of Akwa Ibom State using the ARISE Agenda.
The event, which was attended by top echelons of the military drawn from the Nigerian Navy, Army and Air Force, as well as parents and guardians of the 2025 graduating students, featured military parade, drills and presentation of awards to deserving Sailors with an Akwa Ibom Young Sailor, Lawrence, Alex Victor emerging as overall Best Graduating Student.
