GOV. UMO ENO GRACES TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE CEREMONY OF ABAK PARAMOUNT RULER’S DAUGHTER
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, today, graced the traditional marriage ceremony of the daughter of the Paramount Ruler of Abak and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers in Akwa Ibom State, HRM Akuku Saviour Sylvanus Udofia, JP.
The Governor was represented at the colourful ceremony by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Archibong explained that official state engagements, particularly the official working visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which extended into the night, prevented the Governor from attending in person.
He, however, conveyed the Governor’s goodwill and highlighted the positive outcome of the President’s visit, particularly his renewed commitment to the actualisation of the Ibom Deep Seaport project, describing it as good news for Akwa Ibom State.
The Governor, through his representative, congratulated the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Aniedi Ime Isonguyo, and admonished them to build their marriage on unconditional love, mutual respect, humility and understanding. He urged them to continually cherish and value each other, while praying for a blissful union blessed with abundant fruitfulness and the joy of children.
The ceremony, held at the Paramount Ruler’s Palace in Abak, attracted prominent political leaders and other distinguished personalities, including the Member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, Hon. Clement Jimbo; the Member representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara/Essien Udim Federal Constituency, Hon. Patrick Umoh; and the Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Barr. Prince Ukpong Akpabio and Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, Dr. Emmanuel Umontuen .
The traditional marriage joined former Sister Idorenyin Saviour Sylvester Udofia and Mr. Aniedi Ime Isonguyo in matrimony.
As part of the celebrations, the couple received two vehicles as gifts: one from the bride’s father, HRM Akuku Saviour Sylvanus Udofia, and another from the Executive Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Area, Hon. Ntiero Ntia.
