GOV UMO ENO IS AKWA IBOM’S CHIEF INVESTOR IN EDUCATION – FRANK ARCHIBONG

…Urges Esteem Schools Graduands to Pursue Excellence, Remain Humble

The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, has described the Akwa Ibom state Governorr, pastor Umo Eno, PhD, as the chief investor in the education and future of Akwa Ibom children.

Archibong made the remark on Friday, July 24, 2026, while delivering his address as Chairman of the Occasion at the 9th Graduation Ceremony of Esteem Schools, Abak, themed “Legacy Builders: Shaping the Tomorrow Today.”

He commended the Governor for prioritising education through increased bursaries for students, monthly stipends for Akwa Ibom corps members, the construction of ICT-equipped model primary schools, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening learning across the state.

Charging the graduands to embrace excellence with humility, Archibong said, “The future is intentionally created by the decisions we make today. The leaders of tomorrow are seated before us. Whatever you do, remain humble.” He also urged parents and teachers to continue nurturing discipline, integrity and sound moral values alongside academic excellence.

The Commissioner praised the management of Esteem Schools for nine years of academic excellence and character formation, describing quality education as the bedrock of sustainable development.
He also hailed the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, as a visionary leader committed to human capital development.

At the ceremony, APC State Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo; ALGON Secretary and Executive Chairman of Eket LGA, Mr. Akan Tommey; other council chairmen and friends of Archibong donated towards the school’s bus project.

Earlier in his remarks, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, thanked parents for their confidence in the school’s leadership, reaffirmed his commitment to quality education, rewarded outstanding staff and graduating students with cash gifts, and pledged total support for all APC candidates, including the re-election bids of the President, Governor, and Senate President in 2027.

The overall best graduating secondary school student, Joshua Emaitoro Nseyo, received ₦500,000 each from Chairman of the Occasion, Frank Archibong, and Hon. Clement Jimbo, alongside other prizes. The best graduating primary pupil, Emaediong Inemeno Ekpo, received multiple awards while Dr. Emmanuel Christopher Okon unveiled a ₦30 million Educational Trust Fund to support future outstanding graduands.
