Ibeno Chairman Appoints Special Assistant on Persons with Disabilities

The Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs) Glory Ekah, has appointed Mr. Samuel Nseabasi as Special Assistant on Persons with Disabilities.

The swearing in ceremony of the appointee, held on Monday September 29, 2025 at the Council Secretariat in Upenekang.

In her remarks, the Council Boss said the appointment was part of her drive to promote inclusivity and ensure that the voices of persons with disabilities are represented in grassroots governance.

Mrs. Ekah assured that, her administration is committed to running a government that leaves no one behind, stressing that persons with disabilities deserve attention, empowerment, and a sense of belonging.

Our resolve is to build an Ibeno where every citizen counts, regardless of their physical state. This appointment will help us further address the needs and concerns of persons with disabilities,”

You are called to serve with integrity, diligence, and openness — to advocate for the welfare of persons with disabilities and to strengthen the bond between the council and the community,” she said.

Responding to his appointment, Mr. Nseabasi described the appointment as historic and first formal recognition of persons with disabilities within the local government structure.

He expressed appreciation to the Chairman for the opportunity to serve and promised to work diligently to promote the welfare of persons with disabilities across the local government area.
