IHCDT Presents Certificate to 105 Trainees

…charges them to be good Ambassadors of Ibeno LGA

No fewer than 105 Trainees who went for specialized training in Port Harcourt, fully sponsored by the Incorporated Trustees of NNPCL/MPN JV Ibeno Host Community Development Trust (IHCDT), were yesterday presented with Certificate of Completion of training.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Crown Moment Hotel and Suite, Upenekang in Ibeno Local Government Area, the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ekpenyong, commended the Trainees for their commitment and dedication during the period of the training.

He thanked the Assessor, Seplat Energy for prompt release of fund for the programme, maintaining that the programmes will impact the people of Ibeno positively.

Ekpenyong also commended the Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Elder Ikoedem Ekong, and Chairman of Ibeno LGA, Hon. Mrs. Glory Ekah for always identifying with IHCDT programmes, hinting that Ibeno Host Community Development Trust under his leadership will continue to support the ARISE Agenda Policy of Governor Umo Eno led administration in the state.

The Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Elder Ekong, in his remarks, lauded IHCDT for their resolved to develop manpower in Ibeno Local Government Area, urging the Trust to ensure the trainees are given all necessary certifications to be qualified for jobs in oil related areas. He warned that no oil servicing company should demand OTP from any Ibeno person as condition for employment as the issue has been settled.

In her remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Glory Ekah, represented by the Vice Chairman of Council, Pharm. Ukpong Okon, pledged unflinching support to IHCDT programmes. He charged the beneficiaries to be discipline and serve as good ambassadors of the area.

Representative of Seplat Energy, Mr. Akaniyene Usiere, while commending IHCDT for well thought out programmes for the people, he assured that the company will not fail in discharging their responsibilities effectively to ensure that the objective of the Trust is achieved.

The Paramount Ruler of Ibeno Local Government Area, His Majesty, Owong Effiong Archianga JP, who was represented at the event by Chief Okon Udofia, advised the beneficiaries to explore job opportunities beyond Ibeno boundaries. He encouraged them to imbibe moral values of sincerity, honesty and humility so as to excel in life.

Speaking on behalf of of the Trainers, Mr. Madu Okpara of Muchila, maintained that human capacity development is very key in the life of any community, and IHCDT took the right decision to develop their youth.

He noted that the trainees were so united during the training exercise, and exhibited high level of discipline and commitment, commending them for doing their community proud.

Highpoint of the event was issuing of Certificate to the Trainees, presentation of plaque to the BoT Chairman by pioneer Trainees led by Melford Asuquo, among others.
