Lady fumes after her friend blocked her for refusing to send ₦25k cash gift for her wedding

“My friend just blocked me after her wedding. I saw a message in the general Aso Ebi group chat we were in. She wrote a long epistle saying she was going to cut some people off after the wedding.

This girl I’m calling my friend, we just became friends late last year, around November or December. I met her at work, we clicked, and we became really good friends.

Sometime around April this year, she told me she was getting married and wanted me to be one of her Aso Ebi girls. I agreed, and she added me to the group.

I asked her where the wedding would take place, and she said Benin City. Along the line, a lot of things came up. My birthday came, and there were many expenses, but I still bought the Aso Ebi material, which was ₦40,000.

Mind you, before she added me to the group, I told her Benin was too far and I wasn’t sure I would be able to attend. She said no problem and told me to just buy the cloth.

In that same group, we planned a surprise for her. I was even the one who came up with the idea, and we contributed ₦15,000 each. There was something else we also contributed money for, and I paid too. Altogether, I spent about ₦75,000.

By the end of May, I texted her that I might not be able to make it to Benin. From where I stay to Benin, I would spend nothing less than ₦50,000 for transportation, to and fro, and I didn’t have that kind of money.

Let me remind you that I even told her to hold on to my Aso Ebi material. So, the money was still with her. Only for her to message me and say that since I couldn’t come, I should send the transport money to her as a gift.

I said, “Gift? As how? I already bought the cloth and contributed to everything.” She said she knew, but I was still supposed to gift her. She even said that if I couldn’t send the full transport fare, I should at least send half, like ₦25,000.

I told her I didn’t have it and explained my situation. The next thing she did was go to the group and write a long epistle saying, “Some of you are not happy for my wedding. You people are not good people. I’m going to cut some of you off.”

After the wedding, she blocked me and another lady. Mind you, that other lady even attended the wedding, so I don’t know what she did to deserve being blocked too.

On top your wedding, I don spent almost ₦100,000, and you’re still telling me to do more. As how…?
