The ongoing party membership revalidation and new member registration exercise across Akwa Ibom State has witnessed remarkable success, with significant participation recorded in Ward 5 and 7 East Itam, Itu Local Government Area, as well as Ndiya Ward in Nsit Ubium. The exercise is part of the All Progressives Congress (APC) efforts to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial elections.
In Ward 5 and 7 East Itam, Comrade George Utip, the Ward Chairman, affirmed that he has diligently carried out the governor’s directive to facilitate the revalidation and new member registration process, emphasizing the community’s unwavering loyalty to the APC and Governor Umo Eno’s leadership. Similarly, in Ndiya Ward, residents and party faithfuls demonstrated their steadfast support despite early morning rains, reaffirming their confidence in the party and its leadership.
Stakeholders expressed optimism about Governor Umo Eno’s prospects in 2027, asserting that he faces no formidable opposition in these wards. Elder statesman James Iniama called on APC members to uphold unity and support their leaders, emphasizing that divine guidance and collective resolve are crucial for future success. “God has a plan for our community, and we must follow our leaders’ body language to navigate the future,” Iniama advised.
Mrs. Ani Abraham, the Special Assistant to the Governor on General Duties, praised Ndiya Ward residents for their dedication, highlighting their resilience amid challenging weather conditions. She reiterated that their participation underscores the commitment of the people to the party’s progress and the state’s development goals for 2027.
Comrade Atteh, Ward Chairman of Ndiya, confidently stated that he has fulfilled his responsibilities as directed by Governor Umo Eno and the party leadership. “I am fully committed to returning our governor to the Hilltop Manson come 2027,” he declared.
Prominent female leader Mrs. Patricia Essien also expressed confidence that Ndiya Ward will deliver a massive turnout in support of APC and Governor Umo Eno come 2027.
Notable participants in the exercise included the immediate past chairman of Nsit Ubium, Arc Iniobong Orok; his wife; Bishop Samuel Akpan; Counselors from Ndiya ward, party officials; and Special Assistant to the governor on media Lucy Daniel.
Political analysts have noted that the widespread participation and unity displayed during the revalidation exercise reflect strong grassroots backing for the APC in Akwa Ibom, bolstering the party’s prospects in 2027.
As the party continues to mobilize supporters across the state, many observers remain confident that Governor Umo Eno’s leadership remains unshaken and enjoys robust support from the people, setting the stage for a successful completion of Arise Agenda.
