Within my one and a half year in office, I have been able to carry out different programmes and projects in Mkpat Enin local government area. We have invested in education, healthcare services, youth empowerment programmes and rural development initiative.

“In education, we have disbursed bursary to 580 Mkpat Enin students totalling N34 million, procured JAMB Form for 100 students, awarded grants to students. We have also donated educational materials to some public schools. Also, under the bursary scheme, 100 Postgraduate students received N100,000 each.

“On human capital development, we have sponsored 10 youths for Dakkada Skills Acquisition Training, and 10 youths in ICT and Media Training.

Speaking further, the Chairman said his administration has launched N100milliin empowerment programme, paid monthly stipends to village heads, town criers and youths, donated medical equipment to primary healthcare facilities and commenced the construction of compassionate homes and ward projects.

Other areas that have received attention include the construction and furnishing of the Traditional Rulers’ Council Chambers, rehabilitation of the Divisional Police Headquarters and the Nigerian Legion House, water projects, rural electrification, road grading spanning over 77 kilometres, construction of culverts and the ongoing remodelling of Ikot Akpaden Motor Park.

Reacting to pictures of Legislative building circulated online by some detractors, Hon. Inyang said he cannot be distracted as no amount of blackmail will deter him from delivering impactful governance to his people.

He explained that when he came into office, he asked the Leader of Mkpat Enin Legislative Council to submit a proposal for the rehabilitation of the Legislative building but till date, there is no proposal to that regard. Meanwhile, the Legislative Chambers and the entire local government council secretariat is undergoing construction and remodeling.

He therefore advised critics of government policies and some online publishers to always verify their reports before going to the public.
