Otoabasi Ntiah declares for Esit Eket/Ibeno State House of Assembly Seat
… reels out plan for constituents
PDP Aspirant, Engr. Otoabasi Ntiah, has declared intention to contest for Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency in the coming 2027 general elections, saying that his aspiration is to restore hope to the youth, dignity to communities and progress to the Constituency.
He made his intention known today during a media briefing held at Boveeri Hotels in Eket.
“I am honoured and humbled to officially declare my intention to contest for the position of Member representing Esit Eket and Ibeno State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly,” declared Engr. Ntiah.
He maintained that Esit Eket and Ibeno are among the most blessed local government areas in Akwa Ibom State as both LGA produce over 90% of the oil and gas resources in the State and also play host to multinational companies, hence possess enormous economic potential to cater for the welfare of the people.
He listed some of the challenges confronting the State Constituency to include lack of electricity, non functional healthcare centers, poor educational facilities, stressing that the problem has never been lack of resources, but absence of visionary leadership, strategic planning and people-oriented representation, promising to offer people-centric leadership when elected into office.
He stated that the responsibility of a House of Assembly member is not to occupy office in Uyo, but to be a voice for the voiceless, hope for the hopeless, sponsor impactful bills, attract development projects, empower the people and ensure that government policies are tailored towards addressing the concerns of ordinary citizens.
The Esit Eket born engineer mentioned that his representation will be anchored on healthcare development, education and human capital development, youth empowerment and economic development, and security and peaceful coexistence of his constituents.
“As your representative, I will work tirelessly to ensure to ensure that our primary healthcare centers are rehabilitated, equipped, staffed and functional. Our people deserve access to quality healthcare close to their communities.”
On Youth empowerment, Engr. Ntiah said, “We will pursue policies and initiatives that create jobs, support entrepreneurship, encourage local businesses and open access to vocational and technical education.”
He thanked the National Screening Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for clearing him to stand the election, stressing that even in difficult circumstances, he has always remained a loyal and dedicated party man and will continue to stand firm with the party and the future of Akwa Ibom State.
He further stated that his aspiration is not about personal ambition but about building a Constituency where opportunities are available to everyone, where young people can dream again, where healthcare works, where education creates hope and where leadership serves the people sincerely.
