“PURSUE YOUR DREAMS” – GOV ENO CHARGES YOUTHS AT JAYNE MUSIC CONCERT
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has encouraged youths to remain committed to their dreams and visions, saying that determination and hard work will eventually make their ideas visible and appreciated.
Governor Eno stated this during an evening of worship organised by his daughter, Mrs Jayne Ufot, tagged “Worship with Jayne Music Concert,” where he commended her courage and initiative in putting together the programme.
The Governor said he deliberately allowed his children to pursue their interests as long as they aligned with the values of God, noting that Jayne’s persistence in promoting the event demonstrated the importance of believing in one’s vision.
“Each of us has a vision, and needs to work hard towards it. Sometimes people may not believe in that vision, but you are the owner of the vision. You don’t mind what people say; you pursue the vision and when the vision speaks, everyone will see it.”
Governor Eno described the event as a lesson in determination, recalling how Jayne continued to publicise the programme until it became a reality.
He praised her organisational ability, describing her as a “master event planner,” and thanked guests and supporters who contributed to the success of the religious musical concert.
In an exhortation, the Lead Pastor of the God of Wonders (G.O.W) Service and Ministry, Evangelist Ayang-Ifiok Umoren, said there have been some misconceptions about worship, and explained that worship is about a person or people and their relationship with God and fellow humans.
Taking his text from 2 Chronicles 20:21-22, he highlighted the power of worship, stressing that great and mighty things take place during worship.
In a brief on the event, the host, Mrs. Ufot, said it was the manifestation of a burden she has carried since childhood in the choir, stressing that it was not a product of impulse but a childhood vision.
She said the vision is to have an assemblage of people worshiping God, adding that it was a vision of pure worship and reverence to God, not an entertainment event.
Mrs. Ufot, best known as Jayne Jesus, appreciated her father, Governor Eno and mother of blessed memory, for their godly upbringing and admonished parents to train their children in the way they should go, for, as the Bible says, when they are old, they will not depart from it.
She appreciated the Governor for honouring her, and everyone for taking part in the worship service, and expressed hope that they were blessed.
The service featured prominent artistes including; Progress Effiong, Chris Vic, his brother, Rehosax, Ity Charis, Joseph Festus, and the Harmonic Choral.
