There is always a Reward for those who dare to be Different

By Francis Erhabor

Yes, many doubted I would retire from service untainted. Make no mistake, the Nigeria police job is one of the most noble callings, almost angelic in nature. However, that nobility faces challenges here in Naija.

* Police job fit change person wey good to bad👺. Why I talk so na because-For 28 years, I worked tirelessly, using my resources e.g my car, salary to run the job, often with little recognition- “nobody send.”

* I fought corruption in training institutions, resisted financial temptations, and reformed Divisions, even when it made me unpopular.

* For three decades, I faced mockery and ridicule, often feeling isolated in my uniqueness. Despite these challenges, I’ve come to realize that there is always a reward for those who have the courage to dare to be different.

* Suddenly, everything changed. Yes, the challenges were immense, but the rewards have been deeply fulfilling. Over the years, my unwavering commitment to ethical policing was recognised through numerous awards 🏅.

* I mean “brekete” awards. Who says honey cannot be gotten from the carcass; or who told you God can not remake the marred clay into a better vessel🤔

* All I’m trying to say to you all is that, no matter the pain, mockery, or ridicule you have suffered for doing the right thing, there is always a reward for daring to be different.

* See my testimony- Here is a collection of awards I’ve received from a job often viewed as infamous, all in the glory of God:
