THEY WANT TO KlLL ME. Pull the Trigger, If You Must

In this line of work, we don’t just carry microphones, we carry the weight of truth.
And sometimes, truth offends power.

Yes, I’ve received d3ath threats.
For doing my job. For standing tall. For refusing to lie.

But before you try to scare me into silence, read this carefully:

I am not the first journalist to be threatened in this country.
And sadly, I may not be the last.

They killed Dele Giwa with a letter bomb.
They chased Eyo Charles into fear.
They’ve silenced countless voices in the shadows.

But they didn’t k!ll the truth.

Every time they pulled a trigger or tried to intimidate one of us, a thousand others picked up the pen.

A few days ago, I almost quit journalism.
Not because I was afraid to be beaten or k!lled…
…but because I was disappointed.
The very youth I’ve spent my time promoting, the same ones I fight for with the pen and micophone are the ones now being used to bring me down.

My socials are monitored.
My calls were tracked.
I’ve been followed.
Some of my former colleagues have been questioned about me.

First, they wanted to try blackmail.
But when they knew that it wouldn’t work, they started asking people for my residential address.
They knew when I was in town.
And when I wasn’t.

So let me make this clear:

If I go down, I’ll go down standing. Not kneeling.

If your bullets are faster than your conscience…

Then pull the trigger.

But know this:
I have nothing to be ashamed of.
No stolen funds.
No secret deals.
No blood-soaked handshakes.

All I have is my little name,
my work,
and my voice.

I will not apologize for asking questions.
I will not run from stories that demand to be told.
I will not hide because the truth unsettles some with power.

I will continue to write.
I will continue to speak.
I will continue to expose, educate, and empower even if it costs me everything. 🤦🏽‍♂️

To those watching, reading, and hoping:
If anything happens to me, let the world know:
I did not fall in fear. I stood. I fought. I dared. 🥺

And to the ones behind the threats?

If you must… pull the trigger.

It breaks me that it’s young people allowing themselves to be used by the same hands that have milked and ruined us.
But I want you to remember this:
I wrote for your future.
For your unborn children and grandchildren.
For a better Eket.
For a better Akwa Ibom State.

Even if I fall…
My words will live.
My truth will echo.
And others will rise. 💪🏽

Because you can KlLL a man.
But you can never KlLL the truth.
